Keep Away Summer Pests Like Bees, Mosquitoes, House Flies and More!
There are lots of things about warm weather to love, especially spending more time outside at barbecues and picnics, watching or participating in all kinds of sports, camping, listening to music, watching fireworks, etc. In many locations, summer means more fresh air inside with open doors and windows.
Unfortunately, a lot of different kinds of pesky bugs come along with these scenarios. Mosquitoes, bees, house flies, black flies, deer flies, water bugs, roaches, and cicadas, lightning bugs, and others are out in abundance during the warmer months, and may also come into your home.
Enjoy fresh air inside and outside by using mosquito nets to protect yourself from a wide variety of bugs! Here are some ideas for using mosquito nets to make your summer extra enjoyable.
1. Sleep under a mosquito net!
Good sleep is essential for good health! Prevent pesky bugs from interrupting your sleep by sleeping under a Tedderfield mosquito net whether you are taking a nap or sleeping through the night. Not only will a mosquito net keep away flying insects like mosquitoes, flies, bees, etc., it will also keep away crawling insects like spiders, roaches, water bugs and more. For the best protection, be sure to tuck the net fully into the mattress (or under a playpen) before you go to sleep and make sure there are no gaps. Rest well!
2. Make camping better–Cover your tent with a mosquito net!
Do you love to camp but hate bugs? Make your camping trip extra enjoyable by covering your tent with a mosquito net. You can make a mosquito net vestibule so that even if someone accidentally leaves a tent door open, bugs won’t be able to fly into your tent. Check out our blog post about camping
3. Dine outside without bugs!
It’s easy to set up a mosquito net over a picnic or patio table. The keys are to position the door just where you need it and to weigh down the edges of the net. If you’re on grass, you can use stakes and tie the net to them. If you’re on a hard surface, you can use flower pots or colorful rocks or other decorative items that will keep the net in place and look festive. 4. Create a bug free kiddie pool
Do your kids love playing in a kiddie pool but get bothered by bees, mosquitoes and other bugs? No more! If you hang a mosquito net over the pool and tuck it underneath, all you need is a door monitor to help open and close the door as people come and go. 5. Kids can create a mosquito net play tent inside or outside
When your kids need a new activity, give them a mosquito net to set up as a play tent or fort inside or outside. Not only will this make a fun play space, it will be see through so it will be easy for parents to keep an eye on what’s going on. Check out our blog post for details: Set up a play tent
6 . Take a mosquito net with you when you travel!
It’s always fun to go new places! But it can be less fun to get there and find various kinds of bugs wherever you happen to be staying. Take along a mosquito net and adhesive hooks which can be put up and taken down without leaving marks. Then no more worries about having bugs bothering you while you sleep!
7. Enjoy watching a game or going for a jog with your baby or toddler
With Tedderfield’s Zipper Top Mosquito Net which can cover playpens, strollers and more, your child is protected and you have quick and easy access to them. Enjoy being outside longer without worrying about bugs bothering your kids!
8. Relax outdoors in bug free peace
Set up a mosquito net over a chaise lounge, an outdoor couch, a bunch of cushions, etc. and you will have a lovely place to read, nap, and relax. The net can also serve as a kind of privacy room…you can tell those who might disturb you: “If I’m under the net, that means I’m not to be bothered!” Just make sure to tuck it under something or weigh it down so it will stay in place if it’s breezy out.
9. Enjoy a drive-in movie with the car windows open and no bugs!
We recommend using our largest conical mosquito net which can be draped over your car to cover car windows. Fresh air, a great movie and no bugs–sounds like a perfect summer or fall evening!
10. Rig a net to cover windows and a hatchback car door while camping
With a super comfy mattress, the back of a car can make a perfect place to sleep while camping. Only issue can be wanting fresh air without being covered in bugs. You can take a mosquito net and drape it or use binder clips to clip it where you’d like it to cover windows and a hatchback door. Then you can sleep with lovely fresh air and no bugs.
