Have a great time glamping without bugs!
It’s summer! This is the time of the year to step outside, to temporarily escape the unrelenting rigors of domestic life for nature’s rejuvenating sanctity. Now, what better way is there to do this than good old-fashioned camping? Perhaps, car glamping, ladies and gentlemen. Car glamping is a practical way to enjoy the outdoors without having to sleep on the floor, worry about finding a bump free tent spot or stress about broken tent poles and lost stakes. Still, it doesn’t have to replace traditional camping, the two can be used hand in hand to make space in a crowded tent or ensure refuge in the case of bad weather. While not every model of car can do this, many allow you to fold down the back seats to create a nice flat space, perfect for a super cozy off-the ground bed. Considering that it’s summer, you’ll want your windows down as you sleep, but that means mosquitoes!
Mosquitoes are not only annoying and cause itchy bites but are also potentially dangerous because they carry diseases. The most common mosquito borne disease is the West Nile Virus; a disease that may not show symptoms in many people but has the potential to cause flu like illness and at its worst, death. The solution: use an extra-large conical Tedderfield mosquito net to cover car windows and the back door for sleeping or dining in the car, and use another one to create an outdoor bug-free hang out spot!
How to turn the back of your car to a cozy, mosquito free bedroom:
Supplies needed:
Step 1: Gather your friends and family and pick a great campsite!
Glamping should also include an outdoor mosquito free eating and/or relax space
With just a tree and a Tedderfield Mosquito Net, you can create your own outside mosquito free zone!
How to create a mosquito free eating area:
Step 1: Find a tree branch from which you can hang the net…the net is 8.5 ft high and the hanging kit includes a 3 ft rope.
Step 2: Attach the rope to the ring on the top of the net.
Step 3: Secure the string over the branch (with the help of a step ladder, someone tall, or tie the rope to a rock or something you can toss over the branch.)
Step 4: Pull the edges of the mosquito net out and anchor them to the ground with a heavy rocks, sticks or you can thread fishing line or other thread through the net and tie it to stakes.
Step 5: Place chairs/picnic blankets/small tables under the net and enjoy!
