Enjoy July 4th and warm weather without bugs!
With the 4th of July rapidly approaching, we wanted to share some ways to use mosquito nets to make your 4th and all of your summer days extra fun and bug free.
Make a kiddie pool into a bug free zone!
What you need:
- A kiddie pool (great selections at Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc.)
- A Tedderfield Premium Quality Extra Large Conical Mosquito Net
- A tree branch, pole, etc. from which to hang the net
- Water
- Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, water shirts, etc.
- Toys
- Kids and adults!
This base of this mosquito net is 42 ft in circumference so it can cover a quite large kiddie pool. It is 8.5ft tall with a single attachment point. A hanging kit including a hook and rope come with the net.
First pick the perfect spot for your pool and look for something from which you can hang the net. The net has a single double overlap door. Hold the net up before you hang it to decide where you’d like the door.
We recommend hanging the net so that there are about 1.5 to 2 feet that you can tuck underneath the pool. (If the hanging point is high, use the rope to adjust the net heights as needed.)
Tucking the net under the pool will do a few important things:
- It will ensure that insects don’t fly in through gaps.
- If it is breezy out, it will keep the net in place.
- It will keep the net out of the water!
Kids and adults can go in and out through the door and a door monitor can help with pulling the door closed and tucking that part of the net under the pool as people come and go. Make the door monitor job a desired one by offering fun prizes for the best door monitors! The net is completely see through making it easy for adults to keep a close eye on kids playing. After play time, just let the net hang to dry.
Remember to always have an adult watching kids in a pool!
Enjoy your bug free pool time!
Dine outside without pests!
What you need:
- An outdoor table and chairs/picnic table situated under a tree or anything from which you can hang a net.
- Tedderfield Premium Quality Rectangular Mosquito Net
- This net comfortably covers a standard size picnic table or anything smaller.
- If there is any breeze, it’s best to have something to weigh down or stake the net.
- If your table is on grass, you could use small wooden (or metal) shish kebab skewers which you can put through the very bottom edge of the net at an angle to make them extra secure (that is how the net is staked out in the photos above). Or you could use tent stakes, chopsticks, whatever you have handy that can serve as a stake, and then use thread or thin rope or ribbon to put through the net and tie to the stakes.
- If your table is on a solid surface, you could weigh down the edges with books or colorful plastic cups filled with sand or rocks, or use small plants or flowerpots.
- Fun tableware–plates, cups, etc.
- Delicious food
- Family and friends!
First step is make sure your table is under something from which you can hang a net. The net is a little over 6 feet tall and has one double overlap door. It has 7 reinforced hanging loops which support the net to make a spacious rectangle. Once you’ve picked your spot, hold the net up to decide where you’d like the double overlap door.
The net includes hooks and ropes for hanging. You can use the ropes to adjust the height of the net as needed. You want the net to extend all the way to the ground with an inch or two of net at the bottom edge that you can use to stake or weigh down if it’s a breezy day.
As mentioned above, there are multiple ways you can stake or weigh down the net. Using colorful things (small flags, flowerpots, colorful cups with sand/rocks, painted rocks to use as weights, etc.) will add to the festive feel. The double overlap door can be opened and closed as needed.
As you can see from the photos above, the net is see through so you can enjoy the view and fresh air without bugs landing on your food or pestering you. The mesh is small enough to prevent bugs from entering but big enough to allow for great air flow.
Happy dining!
Note: If you have a round table, Tedderfield’s Conical Mosquito Net will make a lovely insect free dome over your table. Again we recommend hanging the net so that there is some room at the bottom edge to stake it or weigh it down on a breezy day.
Children can enjoy summer activities and nap time without pests!
What you need:
Tedderfield Zipper Top Mosquito Nets
Summer means there are tons of fun activities to enjoy, many of them outside where kids can be bothered by bees, mosquitoes, flies and other pests. And as people go in and out of their homes, mosquitoes, flies and other insects can fly in, so using a net is also a good idea while inside.
Protect your kids inside and outside
Tedderfield’s Premium Quality Zipper Top Mosquito Net can cover playpens, a wide variety of stroller sizes, including jogging strollers and double strollers, and much more. It has an exclusive design with zipper access and a drawstring base.
The dimensions of the net are: L40.5” x W29.5” x H32.5”. Anything that will fit into these dimensions (playpen, stroller, bassinet, cradle, car seat, etc.) can be covered with this net, thanks to the adjustable drawstring base.
So, go to that 4th of July parade, take a lovely walk, enjoy watching a soccer or baseball game, linger at a barbecue, let your children nap in their playpens inside or outside, all the while knowing that your kids are protected from pesky bugs underneath a premium quality mosquito net. Please read our blog post for more details about how to cover playpens, strollers and more: http://www.tedderfield.com/introducing-tedderfield-zipper-top-mosquito-net-for-toddlerbaby-playpens-and-more/
Bonuses:
- All other nets on the market for playpens and strollers have an elastic base with no zippers which means they are not adjustable and you have to fight with elastic to put them on and take them off any time you need to reach your child.
- With the Tedderfield Zipper Top net, the drawstring base makes it adaptable to fit many different things.
- You only have to put it on once, then you have quick and easy access to your kids through the zippered opening.
