Premium quality manufacturing means high quality mesh fabric, well-sewn seams, reinforced hanging loops on rectangular nets, steel hoops in conical nets, and attention to every detail. It also means each net comes with a well-made reusable carry bag, a hanging kit with good quality components and easy to follow instructions.

• THE BEST FABRIC TYPE—The strongest and lightest material for mosquito nets is polyester.   Mosquito nets are sometimes made of cotton, which is heavier and can stretch out and lose shape or silk which is very fine and easily torn, or nylon does not breathe as well and is much hotter underneath. Tedderfield nets are made of premium quality polyester mesh.

• IDEAL FABRIC WEIGHT AND MESH SIZE—Polyester fabric weight is noted by “denier” (den-ee-yay). Standard size denier for mosquito nets if 75D. At this weight, the material is strong and less likely to tear. The mesh size is sufficiently small to keep out mosquitoes and other insects while still large enough for good airflow. Some mosquito nets are also made of 50D. This fabric weight is still strong enough to not tear easily. The mesh size is smaller, keeping out smaller insects, and airflow is still good.

Tedderfield nets are made of either 75D or 50D. We do not recommend any denier lower than 50D as that will be likely to tear easily, and airflow will be reduced leading to a stuffy feeling under the net.
